As part of the “Local Youth and SRHR Network Formation” initiative under the Youth Share-Net Project, a “Youth Network Meeting with Youth Groups” was held on 06 April 2026 at the AVAS Training Center.The meeting was organized by the Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS) under the Youth Share-Net Project, with the initiative of RedOrange and support from AmplifyChange.
Local youth leaders and students from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital, Nursing Institute, and other educational institutions actively participated in the meeting. The session began with a welcome address by Umme Saifunnesa Lucky, Director of Finance and Administration, AVAS. Key discussions were led by Mosammat Mahbuba Akter, Resource Person, and Md. Shahidul Islam, Director of Advocacy and Communication, AVAS.
The speakers discussed important issues including Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), gender equality, adolescent health, prevention of child marriage, and social awareness. Through interactive discussions and exchange of views, the meeting highlighted the importance of raising youth awareness, strengthening leadership, and building an effective local youth network.
AVAS believes that an informed, empowered, and organized youth community plays a vital role in building an inclusive, healthy, and rights-based society. Such initiatives will continue to contribute to positive social change at the local level.
