Establishing Connections with Local Youth Organizations and Community Groups and Forming a Youth Network

With the generous support of Islamic Relief Bangladesh (IRB), Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS) has distributed financial assistance for purchasing sacrificial animals among 1,400 Manta and slum dweller families in Barishal Sadar ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Adha.

As part of this initiative, funds were provided for the purchase of 40 cows to ensure that vulnerable and marginalized families can celebrate Eid with dignity and joy. On 26 May 2026, with the active cooperation of AVAS and IRB staff members, the community procurement committee successfully completed the purchase of all 40 cows.

AVAS and Islamic Relief Bangladesh Support 1,400 Manta and Slum Dweller Families Ahead of Eid-ul-Adha

With the generous support of Islamic Relief Bangladesh (IRB), Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS) has distributed financial assistance for purchasing sacrificial animals among 1,400 Manta and slum dweller families in Barishal Sadar ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Adha.

As part of this initiative, funds were provided for the purchase of 40 cows to ensure that vulnerable and marginalized families can celebrate Eid with dignity and joy. On 26 May 2026, with the active cooperation of AVAS and IRB staff members, the community procurement committee successfully completed the purchase of all 40 cows.

The initiative is expected to directly benefit approximately 5,600–7,000 people, considering an average family size of 4–5 members per household. This humanitarian support reflects the shared commitment of AVAS and Islamic Relief Bangladesh to stand beside disadvantaged communities and promote inclusion, solidarity, and compassion during religious festivals. AVAS expresses sincere gratitude to Islamic Relief Bangladesh for their valuable support and continued partnership in improving the lives of vulnerable communities in Bangladesh.
