Climate Resilience & Disaster Risk Reduction
Coastal communities face increasing risks from cyclones, floods, tidal surges, waterlogging and other climate-related hazards.
AVAS works with communities to strengthen:

Humanitarian Action
AVAS has supported disaster-affected communities since Cyclone SIDR through timely, community-centred and inclusive humanitarian action.
Our humanitarian work includes:
- Emergency relief assistance
- Cash and livelihood support
- Rehabilitation of damaged homes
- Water, sanitation and hygiene support
- Protection and inclusion
- Early recovery and resilience-building
- Coordination with government and humanitarian partners
A trained Disaster Taskforce Team and a network of more than 500 volunteers strengthen AVAS’s capacity to respond rapidly across vulnerable coastal areas.
