Association of Voluntary Actions for Society (AVAS) follows a transparent, participatory, and accountable governance system to ensure effective decision-making and responsible program implementation. The governance structure reflects the organization’s commitment to inclusiveness, gender balance, and representation of marginalized communities.
Governing BodieS

I. Constitutional Committees These are the core governing bodies of AVAS:

* Executive Committee
II. Management Committees These committees ensure effective organizational management and coordination:
• Senior Management Team (SMT).
• Management Coordination Committee.
• Project Management Committee.
III. Program Operations & Compliance Committees/Teams These committees and teams ensure program quality, accountability, and compliance with policies: • Procurement Committee • Safeguarding Committee • Disaster Taskforce • Gender Taskforce • PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) Investigation Team • Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee • Internal Audit Team • Monitoring & Evaluation Team • Project Facilitation Team (PFT)

Advisory Committee:
The Advisory Committee includes 3 members (Male: 1, Female: 2).
- Provides expert guidance and strategic advice
- Supports long-term organizational development
General Committee:
The General Committee consists of 21 members (Male: 7, Female: 14) representing diverse social groups, including marginalized communities.
- Acts as the highest policy-making body
- Meets annually
- Provides strategic direction and approves major decisions.
Executive Committee:
The Executive Committee comprises 7 elected members (Male: 3, Female: 4) from the General Committee.
- Serves a 3-year term
- Meets quarterly or as needed
- Responsible for policy approval, planning and organizational oversight.
