The Director General of the Directorate General of Family Planning, Dr. Jinnat Rehena, visited Badura Hat Secondary School in Galachipa Upazila, Patuakhali, on 14 September 2026. During her visit, she observed a school-based health education session implemented under the RMNCAH Project, focusing on adolescent health.
Dr. Jinnat Rehena observed the session and appreciated the students for their disciplined participation and effective presentation on adolescent health and well-being. She also expressed her appreciation to Concern Worldwide and AVAS (Association of Voluntary Actions for Society) for implementing the school-based health education programme in this remote area of Galachipa Upazila.
The visit highlighted the importance of bringing essential adolescent health information and services closer to students, particularly in geographically remote and underserved communities. The school-based sessions under the RMNCAH Project provide an opportunity for adolescents to receive age-appropriate health information and develop greater awareness of their health and well-being.
During the visit, the Director General also provided guidance to officials of the Family Planning Department on strengthening and accelerating field-level activities and service delivery.
The visit was attended by the Director of Family Planning, Barishal Division, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Galachipa, Patuakhali, and representatives of Concern Worldwide and AVAS. Among those present were the Technical Advisor – Advocacy of Concern Worldwide, Deputy Executive Director of AVAS, Director – Advocacy & Communication, and officials and field-level team members of the AVAS RMNCAH Project.
The visit served as an important opportunity to observe the implementation of school-based adolescent health education at the community level and to strengthen coordination among government authorities, development partners, and implementing organizations.
